Plaster Sports Complex, Robert W.

The Robert W. Plaster Sports Complex, located at 1015 E. Grand, is the home of the Missouri State Football Bears. Built in 1930, the athletic field became the stadium in 1941 and was known for many years as Briggs Stadium in honor of Coach A. W. Briggs, longtime head of Missouri State's athletic department.

The Briggs Stadium, located at Robert W. Plaster Sports Complex, includes an astro turf football field and all-weather track. The stadium may be reserved for special events with the Facility Coordinator (836-5653), but is available for open recreation at all other times.

The facility became the Robert W. Plaster Sports Complex when the stadium underwent a major renovation in the early 1980's that included the installation of an artificial playing surface, an all-weather track, a second level of seating, twelve racquetball courts, men's and women's locker rooms, five classrooms, and a state-of-the-art fitness center.
